Swapna Dutt was born in Vijayawada to the producer C. Ashwini Dutt. She dutt is the eldest daughter of C. Ashwini Dutt and Vinaya Kumari. Swapna has two younger sisters Priyanka Dutt, who co-produced movies with Swapna and her father and Sravanthi Dutt who is a businessman in the hospitality sector. Swapna Dutt holds an MBA Degree from Ohio University. On 19 December 2010 Swapna married Prasad Varma.
